In 2014, the environmental organization «BIOM» actively participated in developing a package of environmental recommendations as part of an off-site meeting of the «Respublika» parliamentary faction. This off-site meeting was held at a comfortable resort on the lake shore and attracted the attention of journalists and the public.
Issues related to environmental problems and tourism in the region were actively discussed at the meeting. Meeting participants expressed concern about the government’s insufficient attention to tourism and environmental problems. Special attention was paid to the law on the Issyk-Kul biosphere zone, which is included in the UNESCO list as a natural World Heritage site.
The environmental organization «BIOM» presented a package of environmental recommendations at the meeting, aimed at solving the region’s environmental problems. These recommendations included specific proposals and measures to improve the state of the environment, preserve natural resources, and develop environmentally sustainable tourism.
In addition, the «Respublika» parliamentary faction adopted a number of instructions based on the recommendations presented and the discussions at the meeting. These instructions became the basis for further legislative and practical action aimed at solving environmental problems and supporting the region’s sustainable development.
Thus, the participation of the environmental organization «BIOM» in this activity helped draw attention to environmental issues, develop specific recommendations and measures to address them, and create a basis for further action in environmental protection and the development of environmentally sustainable tourism.
