The 1st National Conference «Education for Sustainable Development» was organized and held in 2005 in Kyrgyzstan. It was an important event at which issues related to the role of education in ensuring the country’s sustainable development were discussed.
The conference’s main goals and objectives included:
Assessing the current capacity of education for sustainable development in Kyrgyzstan.
Discussing modern methods and approaches in education that promote sustainable development.
Identifying the problems and challenges facing the country’s education system.
Developing a strategy and recommendations for improving education for sustainable development in the future.
The conference brought together scientists, educators, environmentalists, representatives of educational institutions and government bodies, as well as representatives of public organizations and young people interested in the development of sustainable education.
During the conference, plenary sessions, sections, discussions, and master classes were held, at which participants exchanged experience and ideas on improving education in the context of sustainable development. The conference’s results were documented and used in the further development of educational strategies and programs aimed at supporting sustainable development in Kyrgyzstan.
