During this period, the Environmental Movement «BIOM» actively participated in developing a strategically important program for the Kyrgyz Republic’s transition to sustainable development for 2013-2017. This work was carried out with support from the Ministry of Economy of Kyrgyzstan and involved cooperation with ministries, agencies, and representatives of the civil sector.
As part of this activity, the Environmental Movement «BIOM» actively participated in developing the sections on education and the environment, and helped incorporate environmental aspects into other sections of the Government’s plan for implementing this program. The work was carried out in close cooperation with relevant ministries and authorities, as well as with representatives of the civil sector, to ensure the comprehensive and effective participation of all stakeholders in developing the country’s sustainable-development strategy.
«BIOM»‘s activities as part of this project helped ensure that environmental aspects were taken into account in state policy and ensured the integration of sustainable development into key areas such as education and the environment. This participation by the organization helped ensure the sustainable and environmentally literate development of the Kyrgyz Republic at the level of strategic planning and state policy.
