Since 1998, the Environmental Movement «BIOM» has been actively involved in the work of environmental groups focused on implementing the provisions of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) in Kyrgyzstan. The organization takes an active part in projects and initiatives aimed at conserving and managing biodiversity in the country.
«BIOM»‘s activities in this area include developing and implementing projects related to the protection and restoration of species and ecosystems, as well as conducting educational and information events to raise public awareness of the importance of preserving natural diversity. The organization cooperates with various international and non-governmental organizations, such as the Global Environment Facility (GEF), FFI, NABU, GTZ, WWF, and others.
One of the organization’s significant achievements is its participation in developing and implementing transboundary biodiversity conservation projects, as well as preparing strategies and action plans for nature conservation. «BIOM» actively introduces new methods and approaches that help preserve and sustainably manage biodiversity in Kyrgyzstan.
In addition, the organization works to improve legislation on nature and biodiversity conservation, which helps ensure the more effective implementation of international agreements and conventions in this area.
