In 2000, the project «Eco-School — 2000» was launched, which received support from the Soros Foundation-Kyrgyzstan. The project’s goal was to engage schoolchildren with environmental issues and foster environmental awareness among them.
As part of the project, special training lessons were held for schoolchildren, aimed at introducing them to environmental issues and problems. These lessons helped students better understand the importance of preserving nature and the sustainable use of resources.
In addition, environmental campaigns were held as part of the project, in particular, the greening of school grounds. This helped create a favorable environmental situation in schools and engage schoolchildren in active work to improve the environment.
The project «Eco-School — 2000» was an important step in environmental education and the popularization of the principles of sustainable development among the younger generation of Kyrgyzstan.
