In 2013, the Environmental Movement «BIOM» actively participated in developing regional sustainable-development programs for five regions of Kyrgyzstan: Naryn, Talas, Issyk-Kul, Batken, and Jalal-Abad. The main task was to integrate environmental aspects and education issues into these programs in order to ensure the sustainable and environmentally friendly development of the regions.
The organization cooperated with local authorities, stakeholders, and environmental organizations in these regions to determine priorities and goals related to environmental protection and education. As a result of this joint work, programs were developed that took into account environmental aspects, including nature conservation and sustainable resource use, as well as strategies for developing education in accordance with the needs of the regions.
This assistance helped make sustainable development a key part of the regional programs and strategies of Kyrgyzstan’s regions. As a result of this activity, environmental aspects and education were integrated into regional planning and development, which helped improve the quality of life of local residents and the sustainable development of the regions.
