BIOM is participating in the Asia-Pacific Policy Forum on Development Regional (PFD) Meeting 2026, taking place in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The event brought together local governments, civil society organizations, international partners, and the European Union to discuss future development cooperation.
BIOM’s invitation to such a high-level event is recognition of the organization’s expertise and an important step in advancing the interests of Kyrgyzstan and the Central Asian region globally.
The organization’s key priorities for the forum are advocacy for the region’s interests.
Central Asia is acutely affected by the consequences of climate change. Participation in the forum allows us to directly communicate the specifics of regional challenges to major international institutions.
BIOM shares the meeting’s key message that effective sustainable solutions must be created in partnership with local communities. Civil society organizations and local governments are key actors in building climate resilience at the local level. The discussions focus on funding mechanisms for local institutions. This is critical to ensuring that foreign investment accurately addresses Kyrgyzstan’s real environmental and economic priorities. Participation in such international platforms allows us to strengthen partnerships and implement cutting-edge approaches to achieve real change in sustainable development and environmental protection in our country.
