On November 29, 2024, an expert round table “Challenges of Biodiversity and Climate Conservation: International and National Levels” was held in Bishkek.
The event was organized by The Konrad Adenauer Foundation and The Ecological Movement “BIOM” and brought together ecologists, climatologists, representatives of civil society, and international organizations.
The discussion focused on issues of Kyrgyzstan’s participation in international processes in the field of biodiversity and climate, including the outcomes of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity Conference of the Parties COP16 and the climate conference COP29.
André Alghermissen delivered a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation and youth participation in promoting the environmental agenda.
Participants discussed how international obligations and decisions can be reflected in Kyrgyzstan’s national policy, as well as exchanged expert assessments and practical approaches to nature conservation and responding to climate challenges.
The round table became a platform for professional dialogue, experience sharing, and strengthening cooperation among the expert community, civil society, and international partners.
