In Kyrgyzstan, the National Strategy for Biodiversity Conservation is being updated.

The Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic, with the support of UNDP, has initiated the update of the National Strategy and Action Plan for Biodiversity Conservation.

The work is being carried out as part of the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, which sets out international goals and directions for action on nature conservation and ecosystem restoration.

The execution of the work on preparing the updated strategic documents is carried out by the Ecological Movement “BIOM”.

The main task of the process is to determine specific and realistic measures for the conservation and restoration of ecosystems, the protection of biological diversity, and the sustainable use of biological resources of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The updated strategy should serve as a basis for coordinated actions by the state, the expert community, civil society, and other stakeholders in the field of biodiversity conservation in the country.
