In Bishkek, the State Program for the Preservation of Biodiversity of Kyrgyzstan until 2040 will be discussed.

The Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic, with the support of UNDP, together with the Environmental Movement “BIOM” and the NTК RіK, is developing a State Program for the Conservation of Biological Diversity until 2040 and a Plan of Activities for 2025-2030.

As part of this work, a public discussion of the draft documents will take place on June 26, 2025, in Bishkek.

The aim of the discussion is to gather proposals and opinions from all stakeholders in the framework of the revision of strategic documents of the Kyrgyz Republic in the area of conservation of biological diversity.

Representatives of state bodies, the expert and scientific community, civil society organizations, local communities, and other interested parties are invited to participate. You can join the discussion both in person and online.

Participants can also familiarize themselves in advance with the draft State Program and the Plan of Activities and submit their proposals and comments. A separate online survey is provided for collecting feedback.

For participants from the regions wishing to attend the discussion in person, transport support is provided.

The public discussion will take into account the positions of various stakeholders and form a more comprehensive approach to the conservation of biodiversity in Kyrgyzstan for the long term.
