The Global Forest Coalition is pleased to welcome Anna Kirilenko as its new chair. Anna has been a member of the GFC board for Northern and Central Asia and Eastern Europe for several years. She is the executive director of the GFC group “Ecological Movement BIOM” and is widely recognized as a leading expert in environmental policy and law and a central figure in the environmental and feminist movement in her home country, Kyrgyzstan. She will succeed Diego Cardona, who served as chair of the GFC from 2015 to 2019. We sincerely thank Diego for his hard work and dedication to the coalition over the past four years! At the GFC board meeting in February 2020, it was also officially announced the election of Johanna Molina from Colectivo VientoSur in Chile as the new board member from Latin America and the Caribbean. Johanna was elected at the regional meeting of members from Latin America and the Caribbean held in December 2019 in Santiago, Chile. In addition to being an active member of Colectivo VientoSur, she is currently the coordinator of the Chilean branch of the World March of Women.
