The relevance of conducting this seminar is obvious – it was determined based on the results of research on current risks of pesticide exposure in the former USSR countries, with a focus on the social aspects of the use of these chemical agents and the identification of vulnerable groups. The study was conducted by the Ecological Movement “BIOM.”
The objective of the event is to present the results of the research conducted in the Chuy, Osh, and Jalal-Abad regions, discuss issues related to planning activities to reduce risks from pesticide use, and launch an information campaign in all regions of the country to mitigate risks from pesticide use across all areas of Kyrgyzstan.
Representatives from educational, scientific, and public organizations, regional departments of the Department of Chemicalization and Plant Protection, as well as representatives from FAO and the European Union participated in the seminar.
