Relevance of the issue:
Currently, a large number of organizations in the Kyrgyz Republic are facing difficulties related to access to safe water and adequate sanitation conditions. Poor sanitary and hygienic conditions in educational organizations lead to increased morbidity of children from infectious diseases, such as diarrhea, parasitic diseases, and hepatitis A.
To mitigate the existing situation and address urgent problems in this area, a competition has been organized to identify and encourage positive practices implemented at the school level — by teachers, school administration, and individual educators in promoting hygiene issues, water safety, and adequate access to sanitation in educational organizations of the country.
Competition Goals: To attract the attention of school administrations, teachers, and youth to the problem of access to safe water and adequate sanitary conditions, and the development of hygiene skills, through the identification and encouragement of positive practices implemented by students, teachers, and school administration.
Competition Tasks:
Identifying, promoting, and supporting positive practices and successful initiatives from schools, teachers, and students on:

Procedure for conducting the competition
The competition is held from April 1 to May 1, 2015.
Entries are accepted in the aforementioned nominations in Kyrgyz and Russian languages.
Works will be accepted by the receiving committee in paper and/or electronic format until 18:00 on May 1 at:

The school has the right to submit applications for participation in the competition in several nominations.
All works are accepted only in accordance with the format (see Application Form), indicating the nomination. When preparing the work, the use of additional materials (slides, tables, graphs, video, and photo resources) is welcomed, but these materials must be formatted as attachments and indicated in the completed form.
Submitted materials may be returned to the teacher/school, but only upon prior request.
Attention! By submitting materials to the competition committee, you confirm the committee’s right to post them on the website www.taptaza.kg with a link to the source of information. If the applicant is not the author of the initiative/event, the authorship must be indicated. The competition committee reserves the right to publish paper and electronic versions of informational and educational materials based on competition works with a direct reference to the authors.

Evaluation criteria for the works:
Works submitted for participation in the competition will be evaluated according to the following criteria:
Composition of the Competition Committee (jury): The Competition Committee (jury) includes specialists from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, representatives of public and international organizations, independent experts, etc.
Awards: First, second, and third prizes in each nomination will be awarded special prizes. All finalists of the competition receive diplomas and souvenir gifts.
Recognition will be provided both for the school and directly for the author of the work.
For each school that takes prize-winning places, a package of all necessary means/materials for ensuring decent sanitary and hygienic conditions for students will be provided according to the water supply improvement calculator proposed on the website www.taptaza.kg.
Competition dates:
The competition starts on April 1, 2015.
The final deadline for submitting works for the competition is May 1, 2015.
Winners will be announced in Bishkek between May 12 – 20.
