Every year on April 22, a truly global holiday is celebrated — International Mother Earth Day.
The Chair of the 63rd session of the General Assembly, Miguel d’Escoto Brockmann, stated that the proclamation of this International Day in the resolution is a recognition that the Earth and its ecosystems are our home, providing life to humanity, as well as a confirmation of the commitments made at the UN Conference on Environment and Development in Rio de Janeiro in 1992.
Therefore, to achieve a fair balance between the economic, social, and environmental needs of present and future generations, it is necessary to promote harmony with nature and planet Earth.
During the celebration, everyone who cares is regularly called upon to make their contribution. Everyone can do something useful: become a volunteer, refrain from using a car for a day, be mindful of resource consumption (but Earth Day should be every day!) Earth Day Every Day
