More than thirty journalists, youth bloggers, and eco-activists from Chuy, Issyk-Kul, and Naryn regions participated in the eco cafe.
The event was held to inform the media sectors in the Issyk-Kul, Naryn, and Chuy regions about scientists and experts on climate change in various regions of Kyrgyzstan, as well as to familiarize journalists from the regions with the work in the pilot villages of the project, where the population learns to assess climate vulnerabilities and change the lives of their communities by warning, minimizing vulnerabilities and risk factors.
In addition, tools were presented that enable local communities to conduct self-assessments of climate change on their own, as well as to use best practices to prevent vulnerabilities.
At the end of the eco cafe, participants left not only with acquired knowledge about climate change but also with prizes received for the best publications. The project is open to cooperation and invites all interested journalists to collaborate on the coverage of climate change issues in Kyrgyzstan!
