The number of events taking place at COP27 is very high and important.
One of the interesting places is the 4th Hub organized by the Paris committee, dedicated to showcasing global actions to develop active measures against climate change in 2022.
Today, on November 14, within the framework of the Day of Oceans and Land, a site event titled A Global ‘Farmers’ market’ took place.
The main focus was on the group most ashamed of climate change – farmers.
Farmers from Cambodia, India, and Malawi attended the event, highlighting how they are facing severe challenges from natural disasters, such as hurricanes, heavy rain, and drought. They presented brief reports to raise international community awareness about the importance of financial institutions, the necessity of integrating modern technologies into agriculture, and early warning systems regarding the situation of climate financial support.
These mechanisms and measures remain inaccessible for ordinary farmers.
The difficulties faced by representatives of farmers from various corners are similar to those of Kyrgyz farmers:
– Poor access to agricultural knowledge and technology (often, farmers lack smartphones and internet),
– Lack of mechanisms for damage assessment (insurance systems),
– Lack of accessible databases and knowledge.
