On 22 August the annual August conference of education professionals “New challenges — new horizons” opened in Bishkek.
The conference was opened by the Minister of Education and Science, Almazbek Beishenaliev. He noted that quality education is one of the priorities of state policy.
At the conference, Alfiya Nasyrova, expert of the “Jashyl Klimat” project, spoke about the current challenges in science education, climate change, green skills and sustainable development, as well as about the framework of the Paris Agreement and the NDCs. Her presentation was received with great interest, as these topics are now central to the reform of the modern education system, both in our country and worldwide. Examples include the initiatives of UNESCO and UN CC:Learn, among others.
In addition, Alfiya Nasyrova provided the participants of the master class with information sources where they can learn more about climate change education for sustainable development.
“We are glad to have had the opportunity to share our work and information materials with the conference participants. We are sure that this will enrich the teaching and practical work of schoolteachers and university lecturers,” noted the expert of the “Jashyl Klimat” project.
