Outcomes of the «Stockholm +50» consultations in the Osh, Batken and Jalal-Abad regions. During the dialogues a large number of topics relevant to the residents of the regions were raised.
For example, a similar situation with unauthorised landfills in the city of Bishkek and in the southern regions of the country. Chaotic construction, which affects the wind rose of the city of Bishkek, was also mentioned; a similar situation is occurring in the city of Osh, as well as the problem of clean water and sanitation, and of overcrowding and staff shortages in educational institutions.
Many ideas were put forward that had not been voiced before. For example, one participant suggested telling people that an application could be created in which you can estimate your own ecological footprint.
Such striking notions as the “green profession” were also discussed. A participant from Batken shared with us a speciality such as ecological architect — work aimed at minimising negative environmental impact and at efficiency and moderation in structure, energy and space for development and for the ecosystem as a whole.
