Continuing its work on building the capacity of young people and local communities to adapt to and mitigate the risks of climate change and the related natural disasters, the
#JashylKlimat project has selected 6 pilot communities for developing a «Local community plan for reducing climate change risks»:
the village of Kyzyl Kol (Jalal-Abad region),
the villages of Uch-Koshkon, Kok Sai and Ichke Jergez (Issyk-Kul region),
the villages of Tash Bashat and Oruk Tam (Naryn region)
The project has also developed a unique self-assessment method (a risk radar and risk mapping) for local communities dealing with the problems of climate change.
The algorithm for the self-assessment of local communities in relation to climate change is a step-by-step process that leads to the development and approval of a Local community plan for reducing climate change risks. Some of the measures in this Plan will be supported and implemented by the
#JashylKlimat Project.
