Trainings on organising debate tournaments and discussion clubs

A series of trainings has been completed for teachers and students of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan on the techniques of holding debates and discussions and on managing debate clubs, with the aim of creating open and peaceful dialogue platforms for promoting the ideas of interethnic friendship and mutual understanding in the border regions of the three countries. The training was held at the Centre of Friendship, Interethnic Accord and Tolerance at Osh State University.

It is planned that after the training the youth trainers will independently initiate debate programmes and discussion clubs on the basis of the guidelines developed within the project, and will pass on the experience they have gained to young people in their own regions following a “young people to young people” model, thereby building the capacity of young people in the three countries.
