On 8 December at 13:00 in Bishkek the national conference “Post COP-26. Kyrgyzstan and the world. The road ahead” will be held on the results of Kyrgyzstan’s participation in the 26th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in Glasgow (United Kingdom).
The main goal of this conference is to inform a wide range of stakeholders about the results of the national delegation’s participation in the conference in Glasgow, and to analyse the achievements and lessons learned in order to strengthen the country’s position ahead of the forthcoming meeting of the parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, which will take place in 2022 in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
The conference in Glasgow was one of the most anticipated events of this year. The Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, civil society and development partners carried out extensive preparatory work for a successful participation in this event and for the preparation of the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC).
At this event we will discuss the results of the Glasgow summit and the plans for the future — after COP-26. The event is organised by the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision, with the assistance of the project “Policy action for climate security in Central Asia”, implemented by UNDP with the support of the British Embassy, and of the project “Jashyl Klimat” with the support of the European Union.
