Anna Kirilenko spoke about the importance of “green” skills for successful employment and the social adaptation of migrants. The expert noted that because of climate change the current generation of young people will have to act differently from previous generations, and that the modern education system is not keeping pace with today’s requirements.
“Climate change is changing contexts and requires new technologies,” the expert noted, “new skills and competences need to be mastered in order to be competitive on the labour market.”
The presentation emphasised that climate processes are making specialists in renewable energy, agriculture, waste sorting and recycling and other areas increasingly in demand. In addition, the need was noted for specialists who master interactive and modern educational technologies for teaching about climate change.
Anna Kirilenko, manager of the “Jashyl Klimat” project, also thanked the organisers for the invitation and noted the importance of cooperation and joint efforts between the projects implemented in the Kyrgyz Republic with the support of the European Union.
