Meeting with the representative of the youth of Kyrgyzstan at the 26th Meeting of the Parties on climate change (COP26), environmental activist Omar Dairov.

On 12 November the “Jashyl Klimat” project, in partnership with the public organisation “Students for a Green Economy”, organised a meeting with Omar Dairov, environmental activist and representative of the youth of Kyrgyzstan at the 26th Meeting of the Parties on climate change (COP26).
Omar Dairov and Zoia Kretova, expert of the “Jashyl Klimat” project, spoke about the participation of young people in climate decision-making at the global and local levels and about their role at COP26. In Omar Dairov’s view, it is precisely young people who are the catalyst and the driving force of this conference.
A proposal was also voiced during the meeting that the young people of Central Asia could present a common position on climate change issues at future world forums.
In addition, the participants of the meeting were able to ask the questions that interested them and to discuss the events and the agenda of the conference with its participants.
The project «Jashyl Klimat — Youth Resilience to Climate Change» is implemented under the overall coordination of the Norwegian Society for the Conservation of Nature, in partnership with the Ecological Movement «BIOM» and the Public Association «GLIP», with the financial support of the European Union.
