On 10 November an online meeting was held with participants of the COP26 climate conference in Glasgow, organised by the project “Youth Resilience to Climate Change” in partnership with CAN EECCA.
Alexey Kokorin of WWF Russia emphasised the importance of the countries of Central Asia joining forces and promoting an agreed common position at COP26. This was the first conference at which the countries of Central Asia had a single pavilion.
Olga Boyko of CAN EECCA put forward the idea that it would be useful for Kyrgyzstan to join the Climate Vulnerable Forum, as this would make it easier for the country to seek resources for tackling the climate crisis.
The event brought together about 50 participants (representatives of civil society organisations, the expert community, young people and the media), while several people are taking part in COP26 itself, observing the negotiations on behalf of the public of Kyrgyzstan, including

It is great that this topic is attracting more and more attention, but for real change there need to be far more participants — and CAN EECCA will do its best to help with that!
