On 10 November a meeting of the public with participants of the 26th Meeting of the Parties on climate change in Glasgow was held. The meeting was organised by the EU project “Jashyl Klimat” in partnership with WWF and CAN EECCA.
The speakers at the meeting were WWF expert Alexey Kokorin, Yulia Pashkovskaya (CAN EECCA) and members of the delegation from Kyrgyzstan: Radio Azattyk journalist Baktygul Chynybaeva and Zoia Kretova, expert of the Ecological Movement “BIOM” and of the “Jashyl Klimat” project.
The organisers noted that today the whole world is following what is happening in Glasgow, what decisions are being taken and how the world will change after COP26. Anna Kirilenko, manager of the “Jashyl Klimat” project, also emphasised the importance of conveying the voice of the public, of young people and of women at the global climate forum.
The event brought together about 50 participants: representatives of civil society organisations, the expert community, young people and the media. During the meeting the participants were able to discuss COP26 with the experts and to ask the questions that interested them.
The project «Jashyl Klimat — Youth Resilience to Climate Change» is implemented under the overall coordination of the Norwegian Society for the Conservation of Nature, in partnership with the Ecological Movement «BIOM» and the Public Association «GLIP», with the financial support of the European Union.
