Dear friends, we have great news for you!
Zoia Kretova, expert of the Ecological Movement “BIOM” and of the “Jashyl Klimat” project, is taking part in the main climate event on our planet — the 26th Meeting of the Parties on climate change, currently under way in Glasgow.
On 10 November Zoia Kretova gave a presentation in the Central Asia pavilion at COP26 on mountain ecosystems and climate change in Kyrgyzstan. In her presentation the expert noted the special role of natural ecosystems in stabilising the climate. It should be noted that the works of the well-known Kyrgyz scientist Professor Emil Djaparovich Shukurov were used in preparing the presentation.
The special role of public and youth participation in climate decision-making was also noted, which is one of the key goals of the “Jashyl Klimat” project.
The project «Jashyl Klimat — Youth Resilience to Climate Change» is implemented under the overall coordination of the Norwegian Society for the Conservation of Nature, in partnership with the Ecological Movement «BIOM» and the Public Association «GLIP», with the financial support of the European Union.
