The international summit on climate change in Glasgow. 3 November 2021. Scotland.
In the second week of the COP26 conference the focus is on supporting poorer countries in the fight against climate change.
On 8 November, in the Scottish capital Glasgow, the authorities will seek to adopt an agreement on assistance to countries at risk that have suffered natural disasters.
The United Kingdom’s Secretary of State for International Trade, Anne-Marie Trevelyan, will meet with ministers from 26 countries, including the United States, to call for more assistance to developing countries.
Earlier the United Kingdom announced that it would allocate 400 million dollars to vulnerable countries suffering from rising temperatures.
As noted in a report published on 8 November, if the average global temperature rises by 2.9 degrees by 2100, a great many countries in the world will suffer. For example, the gross domestic product of 65 vulnerable countries will fall by 64%, and by 20% by 2050.
The international summit on climate change began on 1 November. It is being attended by the heads and senior officials of more than 120 countries.
