The Central Asia pavilion at COP26

For the first time in the 26-year history of the Conferences of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the countries of Central Asia appeared as a single region presenting a consolidated position on climate change issues.
Also for the first time in the entire history of such climate change conferences, the countries of Central Asia presented a joint Pavilion. This offers a unique opportunity to draw the attention of the world community to the region’s high vulnerability and to the risks of climate migration, especially in the context of current geopolitical stability.
