Dear friends, we would like to introduce you to the activities of the project
“Cross-Border and Multilateral Dialogue for Tolerance and Peace in Central Asia”
The project is funded by the European Union and implemented by a consortium led by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation together with three national partners: the BIOM Ecological Movement (Kyrgyzstan), the “Yuksalish” National Movement (Uzbekistan) and the “Gender and Development” public organization (Tajikistan).
The main mission of the Project is to promote multilateral dialogue and cooperation between citizens of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan in order to encourage peaceful coexistence, mutual understanding and prevent radicalization.
The Project’s activities consist of 3 components:
Component 1. Analytical Research and Media Strategies
~Visualization and mapping of research results;
~6 sub-grant programs for the media;
~Capacity building for journalists;
~A 2-day forum to present research results.
Component 2. Capacity Building
~Training modules and an online course for teachers;
~Organizing conferences;
~15 micro-grants for teachers;
~Training 18 trainers;
~Trainings for more than 360 young people.
Component 3. Cross-Border Dialogue and Local Communities
~Developing a “Local Tolerance Agenda” in 6 pilot communities;
~Conducting trainings for local authorities and law enforcement bodies;
~Organizing a Regional Youth Forum on tolerance; supporting youth action ideas through sub-grants;
~Holding 30 discussion clubs and 30 debate tournaments with more than 380 young people taking part; ~Holding a Festival of Youth Initiatives.
