Right now, a roundtable for media representatives from Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia is taking place in Bishkek, organized by the EU-funded “Youth Resilience to Climate Change” project.
The event was organized to draw attention to and raise the awareness of media representatives on environmental protection, climate change and biodiversity conservation.
The roundtable “Media Coverage of Climate Change and Biodiversity Issues in Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia” brought together more than 30 editors, journalists and bloggers from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, addressed by leading national and international experts such as Ivan Blokov, Programs, Research and Expertise Director of Greenpeace Russia; Andrei Podrezov, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Meteorology, Ecology and Environmental Protection at KRSU; Angelina Davydova, Director of the “Environmental Information Bureau”; Vladimir Korotenko, Chairman of the Council of BIOM; and Tatyana Chernikova, Head of the Hydrometeorological Observations, Forecasts and Information Department of Kyrgyzhydromet.

The “Youth Resilience to Climate Change” project is implemented under the general coordination of the Norwegian Society for the Protection of Nature, in partnership with BIOM and GLIP, with the financial support of the European Union.
