On October 20, 2021, as part of the “Cross-Border Multilateral Dialogue for Tolerance and Peace in CA” project, a Center for Friendship, Interethnic Harmony and Tolerance opened at Osh State University.
The event was held in a hybrid format — modern video equipment installed at the center united offline participants at the ceremony with online participants from other countries in a single discussion space, allowing them to exchange experience and take part in a panel discussion.
Osh State University Rector Prof. Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov thanked the project and stressed that the opening of the Center is of great importance for creating platforms for good-neighborliness and peacebuilding in the region.
The next steps in the Center’s work will include a series of inter-regional debate tournaments, discussion clubs, regional youth expert forums and other interesting events for students, faculty, OshSU administration and all stakeholders.
The Center was opened as part of the EU-funded “Cross-Border Multilateral Dialogue for Tolerance and Peace in CA” project, implemented by a consortium led by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation together with BIOM, the “Yuksalish” National Movement and the “Gender and Development” public organization
