By chance, ending up in the Karagachevaya Grove, intended by its creator A. M. Fetisov to be a green oasis of the city, I thought that the tireless enthusiast-gardener would die on the spot, only faintly imagining what "grateful" descendants would turn it into… Stockades of stumps, broken trunks, dead wood, barbarically burned absolutely healthy trees and shrubs, mountains of plastic and other garbage all along the irrigation ditches and simply on the lawns, and a thick, gray-black, foul-smelling sludge, steadily draining from the adobe buildings of squatter settlers into the irrigation ditches. This drainage system attracts swarms of flies and other insects, the stench is overwhelming in the nose, and the eyes sting from the evaporation of urea! As a well-known hero of a TV series once said, "a painting in oil"…
