The garbage frenzy in Bishkek is becoming quite a familiar sight in recent years for both the locals and newcomers. Sanctioned and unsanctioned dumps are popping up like mushrooms after rain. According to the "185" service of the Bishkek city hall, residents most often complain about garbage: during just one week in September, there were 151 complaints and inquiries. It is no wonder that it is said that any patience may wear thin. Apparently, this is precisely why the "garbage" problem in the capital has increasingly become a topic of discussion in the municipality and the City Council. Deputies are quite critical of the management of the public utility "Tazalyk."
