Project goal:
The Climate Coalition of Central Asian Civil Society Organizations is an initiative aimed at promoting sustainable social development in the Central Asian subregion by coordinating and fostering cooperation among active non-governmental organizations (NGOs), national climate networks, experts, local community leaders, young people, and representatives of academia and science in the field of climate-change adaptation and mitigation.
Main objectives and activities:
1. Creating a subregional-level network: the project organizes the creation and development of a network of the Climate Coalition of Civil Society Organizations in Central Asia. This network brings together activists and experts working on climate-change adaptation and mitigation.
2. Exchange of information and experience: the initiative’s goal is to provide a platform for exchanging information, experience, and best practices in climate research and solutions. This helps improve the knowledge and capacity of participants.
3. Support for scientific research: the project supports and promotes scientific research and development related to climate challenges in Central Asia, taking into account the needs of sustainable social development.
4. Support for youth and education: the initiative is aimed at engaging young people in climate initiatives and educational programs, helping to create new generations of leaders and experts in the field of climate.
5. Search for comprehensive solutions: the project’s goal is to find comprehensive solutions for climate-change adaptation and mitigation, taking into account the needs of sustainable social development in Central Asia.
6. Coordination and management: the Biological Society “BIOM” oversees the work of the Climate Coalition network in Kyrgyzstan and helps coordinate and manage it at the local level.
This project is a subregional initiative aimed at strengthening cooperation and knowledge exchange among active participants in civil society in Central Asia in the context of climate change. It helps improve the level of training, cooperation, and experience exchange, which in turn contributes to more effective efforts to adapt to climate challenges and mitigate their consequences in the region.
