Concept for Reforming the Forestry and Hunting Sectors in the Kyrgyz Republic

Project goal: To develop a Concept for Reforming the Forestry and Hunting Sectors in the Kyrgyz Republic with the aim of improving forest-resource management and environmental protection, as well as promoting the sustainable development of forestry and hunting in the country.

Main steps and activities:

Formation of an interdepartmental working group: the project creates a working group that includes representatives of various government bodies, environmental organizations, and experts, to ensure a comprehensive approach to reforming the forestry and hunting sectors.

Analysis of the current situation: the project analyzes the current state of the forestry and hunting sectors in Kyrgyzstan, including an assessment of environmental, social, and economic aspects.

Development of the Concept: based on the analysis conducted and broad consultations with stakeholders, the working group develops a Concept for Reforming the Forestry and Hunting Sectors. The Concept includes strategic goals, priorities, and measures for improving the management and conservation of natural resources.

Public participation: the project pays attention to the participation of the public and stakeholders in developing the Concept, in order to ensure broad public consensus and take into account diverse interests.

Implementation of reforms: after the Concept is developed, the project supports its implementation, including the development of necessary legislative and regulatory changes, strengthening personnel and institutional mechanisms, and monitoring results.
