Construction of Energy-Efficient Greenhouses Using GERES Technology in Gundu, Kullu Himalayas, India

The project “Construction of Energy-Efficient Greenhouses Using GERES Technology in Gundu, Kullu Himalayas, India” was implemented in cooperation with the organization GERES (Group for the Environment, Renewable Energy, and Solidarity) between 2009 and 2010.

The project’s goal was to introduce modern technologies into the agriculture of Gundu, located in the Himalayan mountains of India, in order to increase agricultural productivity and improve the living conditions of local residents. The project’s main components were:
1. Construction of energy-efficient greenhouses: as part of the project, GERES technology was introduced for the construction of modern, energy-efficient greenhouses that made it possible to manage the microclimate and provide optimal conditions for plant growth under the harsh climatic conditions of the Himalayan mountains.
2. Training of local farmers: the project included training local farmers in modern agricultural methods and technologies, including greenhouse management, yield improvement, and efficient resource use.
3. Support for sustainable development: the project contributed to increased crop yields and higher incomes for local residents, supporting the sustainable socio-economic development of the region.

This project demonstrated a successful model for introducing modern technologies and methods into agriculture, improving living conditions and supporting the sustainable development of the local community.
