Project “Developing Higher Pedagogical Education Standards (2012-2013)”
Phase 1: Aligning and improving higher pedagogical education standards
Introduction: The project “Developing Higher Pedagogical Education Standards” was carried out in two phases from 2012 to 2013 with the goal of aligning and improving higher pedagogical education standards in Kyrgyzstan. The project aimed to adapt the standards to the developed school-subject standards and teacher requirements within the national education program.
Phase 1: Aligning and improving higher pedagogical education standards
Main goal of Phase 1: The main goal of the project’s first phase was to align and improve higher pedagogical education standards taking into account new school-subject standards and teacher requirements. This was part of a broader approach aimed at developing a competency-based model for the national education program.
Phase 1 activities: The following key activities were carried out during the first phase:
Analysis of existing standards: existing higher pedagogical education standards were analyzed to determine their compliance with the requirements of the new national education program model.
Alignment and improvement: based on the analysis, work was carried out to align and improve these standards, taking into account the competency-based model and other modern educational requirements.
Phase 2: Development of a teaching and methodological manual
Main goal of Phase 2: The project’s second phase focused on developing a teaching and methodological manual for training teachers in the natural sciences and pedagogical specializations, including natural science, chemistry, biology, physics, geography, and primary education. This manual was developed taking into account the competency-based graduate model, intercultural principles, and sustainable development.
Phase 2 activities: The following key activities were carried out during the second phase:
Development of the teaching and methodological manual: the project provided for the development of a specialized teaching and methodological manual covering various aspects of teaching and pedagogical methods in the natural sciences and pedagogy. The manual was developed taking into account modern approaches to education and sustainable development.
Conclusion: The project “Developing Higher Pedagogical Education Standards” was an important step in improving Kyrgyzstan’s higher education system and adapting it to modern educational standards and requirements. This project helped improve the quality of training for future teachers and improve educational programs in the country.
