Development of Financing Mechanisms for the Safety of the School Educational Environment in the Kyrgyz Republic

The project “Development of Financing Mechanisms for the Safety of the School Educational Environment in the Kyrgyz Republic” aims to develop and implement mechanisms to ensure safety and health in Kyrgyzstan’s educational institutions. The project is implemented jointly with the Environmental Movement “BIOM” and with financial support from the European Union through the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.

The project’s goal is to create mechanisms that foster a safe educational environment in schools. These mechanisms are developed through inter-sectoral partnership, involving the Ministry of Education and Science, local authorities, social partnership organizations, civil society, and the schools themselves.

The project consists of several key components addressing the main challenges of Kyrgyzstan’s education system. These components include:
Developing and promoting national standards for a safe educational environment in Kyrgyzstan’s schools: the project works to develop and promote standards governing safety and health in schools.
Building the capacity of stakeholders in managing and financing a safe educational environment: the project trains school administrations, staff of education authorities, members of school boards of trustees, and NGOs in educational-environment safety and financial provision.
Developing a training module for specialists in managing and financing a safe educational environment: the project includes developing a training module for education methodologists covering the management and financing of a safe and healthy educational environment in schools.

The project aims to improve the quality and safety of education in Kyrgyzstan and to strengthen partnerships between different sectors of society in this area.
