Since the beginning of 1998, projects based on the principles of the ecosystem approach have been actively implemented in Kyrgyzstan. These projects aim to prevent the degradation of natural ecosystems and to conserve and sustainably use natural resources. They include a wide range of initiatives aimed at supporting biodiversity, restoring, and protecting natural ecosystems.
As part of these projects, scientific research and monitoring of the state of nature and environmental parameters are carried out, and measures for restoring disturbed ecosystems are developed and implemented. Special attention is paid to protecting vulnerable animal and plant species, as well as developing strategies for the sustainable use of natural resources.
These projects involve various stakeholders, including government bodies, international and non-governmental organizations, and the local population. They are aimed at helping preserve natural diversity and improve the environmental sustainability of Kyrgyzstan’s regions. The activities carried out as part of these projects help improve the quality of the environment and promote more sustainable interaction between people and nature.
