The project “Public Information Campaign in Support of Kyrgyzstan’s Forests,” implemented in 2012, aimed to support the initiative of students and young people to expand and deepen their knowledge of forests, sustainable development, forestry methods, and forest resource protection.
The project’s main goals and objectives include:
1. Raising young people’s awareness of environmental sustainability and forest ecology.
2. Teaching young people forestry skills and methods, including issues of forest ecosystem restoration.
3. Promoting environmental education, including popularizing forestry among young people.
4. Supporting young people’s professional orientation in forestry and ecology.
As part of the project, the Republican Children’s and Youth Competition “Zhash Tokoichu” was held, which helped expand the knowledge and skills of participants in these areas. The project also included organizing the Republican Nomination Committee, developing and approving the competition regulations by relevant organizations, and holding the competition itself and awarding its winners as part of the celebration of “Forest Worker’s Day.”
This project helped educate and raise young citizens who are actively interested in forestry and ecology issues and are called upon to help preserve Kyrgyzstan’s forest resources.
