World Conference on Sustainable Development RIO+20

From 2011 to 2012, the Environmental Movement “BIOM” actively participated, together with the UNDP program, in preparing strategic documents to present Kyrgyzstan’s position at the Rio+20 World Conference on Sustainable Development. This conference was an important event in global sustainable-development policy and aimed to discuss key aspects and strategies in this field.

One of the key results of this activity was a document titled “Prospects for a ‘Green’ Economy in the Kyrgyz Republic.” This document was developed together with UNDP and served as the basis for presenting Kyrgyzstan’s position at the Rio+20 conference. It analyzed the potential and prospects of a green economy in the country and proposed specific measures and strategies for transitioning to sustainable and environmentally friendly development.

This work was an important step in stimulating the sustainable development of the Kyrgyz Republic and helped present the country on the world stage as an active participant in addressing environmental and sustainability issues. All of this allowed the Environmental Movement “BIOM” and UNDP to cooperate effectively to achieve common goals in sustainable development.
