Open lecture by Alexey Kokorin
On October 14, the first open lecture by Alexey Kokorin, head of the WWF program "Climate and Energy," took place in Bishkek. The lecture was organized by the Environmental Movement "BIOM" in partnership with the Bishkek Financial and Economic Academy. During the lecture, A. Kokorin talked about the main modern scientific concepts regarding the issue of climate change and noted that there is currently a unified position in the scientific community that modern climate changes are caused by human activity. Kokorin managed to dispel many myths surrounding the "climate" topic, including those about global cooling and the imminent onset of an ice age. Furthermore, one of the most important moments of the lecture was the guide to sources of current information, including in Russian, on climate change issues. The lecture left a deep impression on the audience, sparked many questions, and lively discussions.
