From September 1 to September 10, 2016, the World Conservation Congress of the IUCN on biodiversity conservation is taking place in Honolulu, Hawaii, with the participation of experts from ED BIOM. IUCN – International Union for Conservation of Nature - is the world's oldest and largest global environmental network, a democratic union comprising more than 1,000 governments and non-governmental organizations and nearly 11,000 volunteer specialists from over 160 countries. IUCN gained prominence mainly due to the establishment of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and the creation of the "Red List" of endangered species.
